Spencer, Iowa: We’ve Moved

If you haven’t noticed, exciting things have happened recently at Wolfe Eye Clinic in Spencer! Thanks to our loyal optometry and medical partners and some of the best patients around, we’ve grown... and we needed a new space! With double the amount of square feet this space will allow us to be able to serve you better at a newer, modern facility. You can now find us at 2004 Hwy Boulevard in Spencer!

Since the early 1990’s, Wolfe Eye Clinic has been serving communities in Northwest Iowa through cataract surgery at outreach locations such as Estherville, Emmetsburg and Algona. In 2011, Spencer Municipal Hospital, along with local area optometrists, reached out to Wolfe Eye Clinic to consider opening a permanent main office which would offer patients a full- time surgeon allowing more convenient eye care for patients and improve the quality of care that was currently provided in northwest Iowa. Over the years, several Wolfe Eye Clinic surgeons have rotated throughout the Spencer clinic providing care closer to home for patients. With our new location which is located just off of Highway 71 in north Spencer at 2004 Hwy Boulevard in the former Gaul Dermatology building we can continue eye care and bring in more specialty eye care services in the future.

We have very much enjoyed our time at the Spencer Hospital, and we look forward to our continued surgical partnership with them for the years to come! The additional office and clinical space our new facility allows us to continue to meet patient needs with various ophthalmic specialties and eye disease care. Patients will continue to receive evaluation and treatment for cataract, retina services, and glaucoma. By utilizing the latest technologies and eye care treatments our eye doctors strive to provide the highest standard of eye care excellence for the people of Spencer, Iowa and surrounding communities.

In Spencer, we provide complete cataract treatment and comprehensive ophthalmology with our board certified and fellowship trained cataract specialist Dr. Stephen Fox. Dr. Fox has extensive training and experience in eye care and has been serving patients in Spencer for over 10 years. Due to the growing need and now the additional office space we were able to add Dr. Logan Vincent who is a board certified and fellowship trained glaucoma specialist who also focuses on cataract surgery and the medical and surgical management of glaucoma diseases such as open-angle glaucoma or closed- angle glaucoma. In addition to cataract and glaucoma care, you’ll continue to see our dedicated retina disease specialists seeing patients in Spencer.  Dr. David Saggau and Dr. Austin Strohbehn will continue to offer complete retina disease management and retina surgery for our northwest Iowa patients.
