Welcome Dr. Caroline Wilson, Refractive Cataract & LASIK Surgeon
Wolfe Eye Clinic is excited to welcome Caroline W. Wilson, MD., a board- certified ophthalmologist specializing in the surgical treatment of cataract, cornea, and glaucoma as well as LASIK and refractive procedures. Dr. Wilson serves patients in our Cedar Rapids and Iowa City locations.
Dr. Wilson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She obtained her medical degree from the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama, followed by an internship with the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Wilson completed her Residency in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa where she was honored to receive the ‘Resident Excellence Award’ given by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Foundation to the resident exhibiting exemplary performance through research, patient care, leadership and education. Dr. Wilson finished her training by completing a Cornea, Glaucoma, and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and Women in Ophthalmology. She has volunteered her time to work with the Operation Sight program through the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Foundation, a program that serves uninsured Americans who cannot afford or access the eye care they need. She has a passion for eye care and strives to provide the best vision potential to all of her patients.
Beyond patient care Dr. Wilson is fond of cooking, art and traveling. Wolfe Eye Clinic is extremely grateful for her addition to our growing clinic operations in Iowa. With her expertise in refractive surgery we are able to provide localized LASIK care to patients throughout eastern Iowa.
