Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation
Age and sun damage profoundly affect the delicate and thin skin around the eyes and forehead. The eyebrows can also be affected and become droopy, losing their youthful arch. It is also common to see upper eyelid skin become loose and cause problems with makeup application, and dark circles or bags may develop in the lower eyelids. Cosmetic facial rejuvenation can help restore a natural and refreshed appearance. Our patients frequently undergo both insurance-covered and cosmetic facial surgical procedures at the same time so there is only one post-surgical recovery period.

Cosmetic facial rejuvenation is performed in both non-surgical and surgical ways, so it is important to know your options. Dr. Audrey Ko at Wolfe Eye Clinic is a fellowship trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cosmetic and medical oculoplastic procedures. As a board-certified ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Ko also completed a two-year fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is one of only six members of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) in the state of Iowa.
Wolfe Eye Clinic offers oculofacial surgeons in Iowa that specialize in the following cosmetic surgical and non-surgical injectable procedures:
Surgical Facial Rejuvenation
Forehead and Brow Lifts: the lifting of the forehead and eyebrows to a higher position, with or without modification of the eyebrow arch contour
Surgical “botox”: the permanent surgical weakening of the muscles that cause forehead wrinkles and brow furrowing, usually performed at the same time as a forehead lift
Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty: the removal of upper eyelid skin and fat, resulting in a more “awake” and “energetic” appearance. Female patients will also find that removing the wrinkly upper eyelid skin allows more of their eyelashes and upper eyelid makeup (eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara) to become more visible
Asian Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty: also known as "double eyelid surgery", the enhancement of the upper eyelid fold, with or without modification or creation of a skin crease
Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty (removal of lower eyelid bags): excision of the lower eyelid skin and fat, resulting in a “less tired” appearance
Upper Eyelid Ptosis Repair: raising a drooping upper eyelid or matching uneven upper eyelid heights
Canthoplasty: tightening the corner of the eyelid for well-defined and sharper corner
Surgical Upper Lip Lift (Subnasal lip lift): vertical lifting of the tissue between the nose and upper lip to restore upper lip contour and projection
Some oculoplastic procedures may also correct a medical problem, and our oculoplastic specialists will help you understand if your procedure is medically necessary. Learn more about the oculofacial plastic surgery procedures available at Wolfe Eye Clinic.
Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation
- Soft tissue filler injections with or without a cannula to enhance the midface/cheeks, lips, temples, or nasolabial folds/marionette lines
- Neurotoxin injections of Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau
