Dr. Allie M. Simpson- West Des Moines Cornea Specialist and Cataract Surgeon
Allie M. Simpson, M.D. is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cornea, refractive, and cataract surgeon. She specializes in the management of ocular diseases and disorders and provides surgical treatments including cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and corneal transplants. Dr. Simpson joined Wolfe Eye Clinic in the fall of 2024 and provides care to patients in our West Des Moines, Fort Dodge and Pleasant Hill office locations.
Dr. Simpson graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Biology Honors Research with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Northern Iowa. She went on to achieve her Doctor of Medicine with Research Distinction at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Simpson completed her internship at the University of Utah and residency at the University of Utah John A. Moran Eye Center. She finished her medical training at the John A. Moran Eye Center with a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Simpson has earned many scholarships, published in peer-reviewed journals, and received research awards during her medical training, including the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Scholar award. Dr. Simpson has participated in various medical education programs, quality improvement efforts, and volunteered for local and outreach eye care clinics.
Dr. Simpson and her husband are both originally from Algona, IA. Dr. Simpson enjoys skiing, golfing, and baking in her free time.
