DR. MYRA N. MENDOZA – CENTRAL IOWA OPTOMETRIST

Myra N. Mendoza, O.D. is originally from Sacramento, California. She earned her undergraduate degree with a major in cell biology from the University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, California. Continuing her education at the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Mendoza received her optometry degree. Following medical school, she gained extensive optometry experience during externships at the Sacramento VA, Portland VA, and Travis Air Force Base.

Dr. Mendoza is a member of the InfantSee eye care program, American Optometric Association, Iowa Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. She has special interests in pediatric optometry and managing ocular diseases. As such, she has published and contributed to several research studies in a range of topics including pediatric eye disease and corneal eye disease and injury.

 Dr. Mendoza joined Wolfe Eye Clinic in 2008. She chose to become an optometrist to help improve her patients’ vision and make a positive difference in their lives. Dr. Mendoza also enjoys working with pediatric patients. She finds helping children see better and watching them grow over the years during their vision exams particularly rewarding.

 Family is important to Dr. Mendoza and she spends much of her time with family and friends, and stays involved in her kids’ activities.
