DR. PAUL S. BOEKE – CEDAR RAPIDS AND CEDAR FALLS RETINA SPECIALIST
Paul S. Boeke, M.D. is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist that has been seeing patients with Wolfe Eye Clinic as a retina specialist since 2017. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. Following a transitional year internship at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Boeke completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia, Missouri and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.
Dr. Boeke enjoys working one-on-one with patients, and the ability it provides him to use his head and hands to help others. Eye care has always been part of his life growing up with a father as an optometrist. On any given day you might find him in our Marshalltown, Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Waterloo or Iowa City office as he serves as a retina specialist for patients in Eastern Iowa and enjoys working with referring primary care and optometric partners.
Dr. Boeke has taken part in many research studies and published several articles and scientific papers ranging in subjects from RABGRAI injuries to ophthalmic surgical techniques. Dr. Boeke enjoys presenting to others at lectures and events, speaking about topics such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and surgical techniques.
Dr. Boeke is an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoys attending football games in the fall. He and his wife have two children and a chocolate lab named Murphy. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their friends and family.
